Here's a spectacular image of the sun. I have no idea how it manages to look so
hot when most of the picture isn't even especially bright.





I also have no idea how to get that sort of image to show up in an lj entry--is it possible?

Thanks for the advice on how to get the image to show up--the problem was that I'd forgotten to right-click on the image. Previously, I'd used images which offered jpeg urls.

The little image I've got doesn't do the picture justice. I recommend going to the link and getting a relatively gigantic sun blasting out of your screen.

NonOBSF: _A Wind in the Door_ by Madeline L'Engle, which is as far as I know the only sf where much of the story takes place on the cellular level.
