Willard Wigan's art, sculpture that fits in the eye of a small needle, showed up on my friendslist a year or two ago-- this link has him and a number of other amazing miniaturists, including Althea Crone, who knits sweaters with a waist about an inch across-- they appeared in the movie Coraline.

Jin Yin Hua painted portraits of 42 US presidents on a single human hair.
