Yow. Thanks for the link, I guess. The J. K. Rowling (pronounced like "rolling" or to rhyme with "howling"?) bit is reminding me of my son's homework. He had to decide if "bolt" and "colt" were "closed or open syllables." He wasn't sure, so asked me. I said "closed" (meaning the "o" is short as in octuplets, not long as in rodeo); the school disagreed. I still don't see it.
