A cabbie's food blog

He asks people about their favorite restaurants, then blogs about it-- he also offers custom tours.

Cool in itself, probably a useful reference, and an interesting example of differentiating what seems like a very standardized line of work.

A fast look at his blog suggests that you can get excellent Jewish food in Montreal.

Montreal and New York duke it out for the title of "Best Jewish Food In North America."

There is an ongoing debate about bagels. Montrealer bagels are smaller and sweeter than New York-style, and there are questions about "which is better"?

This is a religious debate even more intractable than "emacs vs. vi".

Of those places, only Snowdon Deli is kosher. I was astonished to find a few years ago when I was hoping to go there with Alter than Schwartz's "Hebraic Deli" isn't kosher.

But I like our bagels, especially the Fairmount bagels. The only reason I ever buy St Viateur bagels is because there's a good second hand bookshop on St Viateur so sometimes I'm right there.
