Powers of Ten, an old classic-- anyone know if there's an updated version? It could use the black hole at the center of the galaxy, the huge scale structure of matter distribution in the universe, and more detailed cell structure.

Rather closer to home, the relative sizes of planets and some amazingly large stars.

This film is based upon an earlier film by the National Film Board of Canada called "Cosmic Zoom" (1968). Here is the only on-line version I could find:

As well, A later IMAX film (IMAX was a Canadian company originally) Cosmic Voyage has a segment where they do the Cosmic Zoom as well:

Thanks. Those give a feeling for some of the choices that had to be made. Circular, square, or no frame? Constellations? I really liked the end of your first video, where we get back to motion at our home scale.

It was one of those films that everyone saw as a kid here in Canada...NFB films were good, and being government produced, were free for schools. NFB won many Acadamy Awards over the years for animation.
