Baboons kidnap (take? adopt?) feral puppies, and raise them to be guard dogs/family members.

Sep. 11th, 2004 09:58 amIs it possible to train a cat or dog to look both ways before they cross a street? I can imagine using operant conditioning to get them to turn their head both ways, but that doesn't cover paying attention.

Sep. 9th, 2004 09:01 amI don't have a dog and I don't expect to ever have one (though I recently met a remarkably charming Britanny spaniel--there may be more to life than feline reserve), but I've been wondering whether it's possible to train a leashed dog to unwind itself. Do some dogs figure it out on their own and/or refrain from getting wound around whatever?
