Just wondering about something which might turn out to be annoying

Did Republicans make any actual predictions about how the economy would do if Obama got elected?

What I remember is claims that Obama is a socialist. Well, actually, what I remember is claims from the left that people on the right were saying that Obama is a socialist.

And that socialist seemed to include Communist.

This seems like a claim that Obama would do a lot to wreck the economy.

What's actually happened is a very slow recovery.

Did anyone predict that?

No, they did not. They predicted hyper-inflation because of all the government stimulus and low interest money available. Still waiting . . . .

Not until the battle over the stimulus - at which point Paul Krugman pointed out that the administration program, which more or less passed, was about half the lost demand from the crash of 2008. On this ground he predicted that it would stop the decline but not stimulate a quick or lasting recovery.

It's not "claims from the left," Republicans openly call Obama a socialist, over & over again, & never once get criticized for it. Video evidence abounds.

Nancy, are the Washington Times (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jun/21/obamas-socialist-designs/) and Jonah Goldberg in Commentary (http://www.commentarymagazine.com/article/what-kind-of-socialist-is-barack-obama/) "the left"? Yet they both say that Obama is a socialist and that other conservatives have been saying so.

Both of these are on the first page of Google results for "Obama socialist". [This time with all the quote marks in the links.]
