I wouldn't necessarily interpret it as placing me, the recipient of the phrase, as being in the same world as the speaker. I'd probably be more likely to hear "I'm speaking to you from my own little world. It's a fine place for me to be; I'm happy and safe."

"...here" does, however, differ from "they know me there" in that it places the speaker within their own world at the time of the speaking, rather than referring to same from the current, shared-with-the-listener world, that "there" implies.
