My new scanner

I've just gotten a Dell 924 scanner, and it turns out it won't scan unless it has cartridges.

Has anyone tried non-Dell cartridges? Any particular sites you recommend for getting them?

Staples sells cartridges that are compatable with Dell printers, but they tend to not register, so you won't know the exact ink levels.
