No opinion about Michael Nutter
Dec. 6th, 2007 08:52 pmI just answered a telephone political poll which I suspect was paid for by Vingnola (sp?), and I was asked for my opinion about Michael Nutter. I didn't have an opinion, which seemed to surprise the pollster. When I asked her if this was unusual, she said I was the first one.
So, would any Philadelphians reading this care to say whether they have opinions about Michael Nutter? I knew I was weird, but I didn't think ignoring local politics was that rare.

Date: 2007-12-07 03:05 am (UTC)me: You say that you're going to take a broom to City Hall and get rid of the hangers-on who do nothing for the city, just show up -- if they do -- to get their paychecks. Laudable, but won't that cause problems with union contracts?
he: I'm talking about patronage employees who serve at the City's pleasure. There are plenty of those, and I'm not saying that none of them work, but there are a number who just take up space and money. And they're a legitimate target.
No embarrassment, no hesitation. He knew what he meant on that and every single issue that came up then or since then that I've heard of. He's got a brain and he uses it, he's got his head together, and he knows where his towel is. His motivations are right and he's got the record to show it, going way back. I'm for him.
