Next time for sure
Jan. 30th, 2008 08:51 amI've noticed that when people talk about getting their asses in gear or getting their lazy asses out of a chair, or any such metaphors, it's pretty much about things they aren't doing.
Is that sort of talking to yourself generally ineffective, or does it work some of the time?

Date: 2008-01-30 02:05 pm (UTC)I do note there's a class of people (of which I am a part-time member) who just like saying that sort of thing and not following up, either due to a need to feel persecuted or as an excuse to others why they're not doing stuff ("look! I'm trying! Quit bugging me so I can go back to being lazy!")
Hmm. That last one could be a quote.
