The new scanner works, and presumably the only thing preventing me from opening a cafepress shop is procrastination, and I'm working on that.

One point of procrastination is a name for the shop. While I believe in theory that business names don't matter much (and probably less so for cafepress--the shop names are in tiny fonts, and I assume most people don't find out about cafepress shops by their names)-- most major businesses have really boring names-- I'm still snagged by wanting a good name.

It won't be anything about nancybuttons. I'm expecting that many of my customers won't have heard of NancyButtons. I'll put a mention of nancybuttons (a link if possible) in a subtitle.

I'd like it to be something that relates to my choice of slogans (I like "At the Speed of Truth", but it doesn't seem to resonate with other people) or is funny in itself.

Otherwise, what slogans would you like to see on t-shirts?

What's the focus of your Cafe Press shop? How does it differ from the button business, other than means of distribution? Short answers to those questions would help me to think of ideas.

An appropriate slogan for you would be:

"-VITZ! -VITZ! -VITZ!"

Why are you using Cafe Press? They seem to take too huge a chunk of your sales of each item for themselves.

I'll mostly be doing slogans. The tone and range will probably be like my buttons until/unless it develops that my cafepress customers want something different. I will endeavor to make sure the slogans and designs are interesting and at least tolerable.

I don't know if I'll be offering buttons at cafepress. I'm mostly interested in the range of products, the lack of capital required, and that they do most of the boring part of the work.

I really like "At the Speed of Truth", actually.

If it's any of the reasons I have, it's because she doesn't need to ship them or package them or pay for things that no one will buy ahead of time or deal with credit card companies or mis-shipments or anything.

If she was *certain* she could sell 100 of a certain shirt (not 100 shirts, but of one design, it might be worth it to her to print them. My shirt printer wholesales them for $8. They sell for $20, but we have a brick and mortar store to pay for. After the basic cost of the shirt, and the ones that don't sell but we need to order a minimum, and the cost of the store, and people, etc., and Cafe Press, while not a hugely profitable endeavor, is a good place to start with a new product or one that you're unsure you can sell 100 of.

When I have a really good design lots of people would like, I sell it to the store. When I have one little design I like or that amuses me but will sell maybe 10 of them, I put 'em on Cafe Press.

Is it just t-shirts, or are you also doing other clothing, or mugs, or such?

Then again, even if it's just t-shirts for now, no point narrowing yourself too much.

Also, will these be calligraphy-style, or ordinary print/type?

Whichever products seem appropriate for a slogan. T-shirts seem like the default, but coffee and tea slogans would also go on mugs. If they have aprons, I can put cooking slogans on them, and so on.

I'm planning on calligraphy, but if I need to add more slogans quickly, I might use fonts.

So why not just use NancyButtons? Sure, many customers won't have heard of that before, but I can guarantee none have heard of you by any other name. And a lot of your slogans are already floating around the net (in .sig files and such) already attributed to NancyButtons, so continuing to use that name means not having to assert that you're not ripping yourself off.

Some webcartoonists have been using Zazzle. I haven't looked at their policies or anything, so I don't know if they'd be suitable for you.
