Tools for tracking blog comments?

LJ makes it easy to track comments with the Recent Comments tool, but is there a handy way to do it with assorted blogs?

There are a couple of ways to do it, but I actually wrote a Firefox extension to do it the way I want it to work -- see www.convotracker.com. If you use Firefox, it should automatically detect when you post to most blog comment systems (including LJ), and ask if you want to track the thread. When you have updates, you get a notice in your browser status bar.

Caveat: I need to update it to play nice with the Firefox 3 auto-update system, although it works just fine with FF3 otherwise. I also need to update it to handle some recent changes in blog comment systems.

Many blogs offer RSS feeds for the comments. It worked fine for me, when I used an RSS reader, but then I stopped using it.
