Common Cause Honors Military Officers Who Defied Torture Policy

Common Cause has begun a petition drive to recognize and honor those JAG officers who protested the use of "enhanced interrogation techniques" and refused to participate in what they regarded as illegal proceedings.

You can read the letter and sign the petition here. The goal is to collect 50,000 signatures by July 4.

I'd be happier if the action were coming from a more reputable organization than Common Cause, which has a long history of lobbying for and getting student fees to fund its political activities.

Meanwhile, I'm working on a theory of division of labor for political ideas. Maybe it isn't horrendous if the NRA takes care of the second amendment and the ACLU takes care of the other amendments.
