A little more about science and food safety

So, anton_p_nym found me an extended takedown of the Monsanto products are very bad for rats study, making claims of cancer-prone rats, small sample sizes, lack of blinding, incompetent statistics, and financial interests (book and movie).

I just wish there were more lifespan studies. And some multi-generational studies. And possibly some studies comparing wildlife that lives near GMO corn fields vs. wildlife that doesn't. But apparently big studies are so expensive that the only people who do them have a large interest in the outcome.

The takedown's extremely obvious bias negates its validity for me. If he'd stated his conclusions with less obnoxiousness, I might even have been able to finish reading without wanting to throw a piano at him.

I felt that way, too, though I was able to skim to the end. However, the more measured Mother Jones discussion linked in my previous post made some of the same points.
