I just heard Anonymous, aka Mike interviewed on NPR. He's written Imperial Hubris. It may well be an interesting book--the premise is that the US has comprehensively pissed off the Arab world by the US's policies in the region, and all that's left is a major military option to keep the US safe. Perhaps the book includes info about what exactly is to be the target of said military option--the interview didn't.

The author is a senior CIA guy. It apparently hasn't occured to him that anyone might recognize his fairly distinctive voice.

I'm reliably bewildered by people who talk on the radio about stuff they'd like to keep private. I call in at NPR now and then, and people who know me recognize my voice. How surprising is this?

I don't get it either. It's similar to the animal cop shows diligently fuzzing out the faces of the agents who also do undercover work, but doing nothing whatsoever to conceal their distinctive tattoos!
