With a bit of luck, I'll have 1" buttons for sale at worldcon. I'm just testing the market,so I've ordered buttons, but I won't have a press for making custom buttons.

I've started on the political buttons (Reluctant Libertarian for Kerry, Reluctant Republican for Kerry, Reluctant Non-Voter for Kerry, Reluctant Green for Kerry, and possibly Reluctant Anarchist for Kerry--there might be a theme involved), and I'm shocked at how small a 1" button is compared to my usual 2 3/8"--unless I've blown the math, a 1" circle is only about 1/5 the area.

I *might* be able to do 10 words on a little button, but 7 seems like a better bet.

So I'll be doing "Go Me!" and "Cat Herder" and "Got books?", but most of my slogans take up a little more room. If you've got any short slogans you'd like to see, please let me know asap--I want to get the designs in the mail on Monday.

Reluctant or otherwise anarchist for Kerry here.

Offhand, do you still have any of the RASSEFARIAN ones? Mine's lost :(

Short slogans we have loved:

CLANK
HONK
TWEET

(that's all one)

I can't transcribe this next correctly: check the spelling with a true fan: "Gort, Klaatu Barada Nikto."

"Nonsense, bombs don't unscrew."

I've got others but I'm on my way out -- I'll check in later.

Is CLANK HONK TWEET a reference to something?

It's Klaatu Barata Nikto, and I'll include it.

What's "Nonsense, bombs don't unscrew from?"

CLANK HONK TWEET is just silly.

"Nonsense, bombs don't unscrew" is from "War of the Worlds."

Aiee, Nancy -- how late are you up, three hours later than me? I was designated driver, and that is amusing.

I've been sleeping sort of randomly, but I'm going to try to get on a more reasonable schedule for Worldcon. I hate it when I need to conk out at 11 and wake up at 3AM when everyone else is asleep--and the dealer's room will be opening at 10AM rather than the more usual-for-worldcons 11.

*heehee* Here's a few more cthulian ones:

Hey, is that a tentacle?
Cthulu Fthagn!
Yog-Sothoth! Cthulu!

and the universal, "DOH!"

I'll do "Cthulhu fthagn!", and somehow, I was reminded that the round TUIT is a good choice.

Thanks. I'm at least doing "WWJD? JWRTFM!". I'm still finding out how small I can get away with writing. Maybe "What would Cthulhu do?" will fit.

I'm dubious about people understanding most of those if they're just the initial letters.
