Dog question
Sep. 9th, 2004 09:01 amI don't have a dog and I don't expect to ever have one (though I recently met a remarkably charming Britanny spaniel--there may be more to life than feline reserve), but I've been wondering whether it's possible to train a leashed dog to unwind itself. Do some dogs figure it out on their own and/or refrain from getting wound around whatever?

The intelligence of the dog,
and the Intelligence of the owner.
A smart owner can teach a smart dog anything, really.
I have noticed that dogs with a "high-energy" disposition tend to get wound around things more easily, and have to be untangled by their owners. Then again, sometimes it's just a matter of working with the dog. If the dog spends a lot of time on a leash, with the owner paying attention, the owner can teach the dog not to get hung up on things.
(Shrug.)
I was going to teach a pet training class for PetSmart. One of the reasons why I chose not to it that people rarely have dog problems. However, many dogs have people problems...
