or, why I use civil liberties as a political litmus test. And I need to come up with a handy convincing argument for why the US government should include everyone as having basic rights, not just citizens.
"First they came for the foreigners, and then they came for the citizens because they couldn't be bothered to tell the difference."
If I ran the world, anyone who's capable of saying "We don't make mistakes" and meaning it would be disqualified from any position of trust. Permanently.

Thomas Warziniack was born in Minnesota and grew up in Georgia, but immigration authorities pronounced him an illegal immigrant from Russia.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement has held Warziniack for weeks in an Arizona detention facility with the aim of deporting him to a country he's never seen. His jailers shrugged off Warziniack's claims that he was an American citizen, even though they could have retrieved his Minnesota birth certificate in minutes and even though a Colorado court had concluded that he was a U.S. citizen a year before it shipped him to Arizona.

Ban on Nanday parrots in pa
Date: 2008-01-26 04:19 am (UTC)If you want to look at the wording of the law, the way that it was aproched, the LIES that were told to peaple calling about the ban, the pap that was told to peaple about how the law is not goinng to be inforced, i am ashamed to be a part of PA.
the wording of the law grants Gaming comising .. (not fun loving dice tossing peaple, but the ones that give out permit Rto hunt and trap and killthings.) THE RIGHT TOO COME IN AND TAKE YOUR NANDAY.
the why? They seem to think that Nanday are able to live in below 0 temp and could pos be a risk to the corn and game ohmygod things that the can hunt and trap and kill.
If you want to knowmore about it go to my LJ Wolfdancer. Have links.\
Or look up Nanday ban in PA on any thing.\
