It looks to me as though Russia and China are moving toward a big war with each other. They're both hooked on the idea that being major powers feels better than anything else possibly could.
Oh, they've had boarder clashes before. Russia's current ADD project is Georgia, not further east. China looks to be obsessed with trying to broker various deals with central and east-asian countries, and a major war would most likely screw up all of that.
If anything does happen (and I'm not holding by breath that it won't), it will probably be minor.
