I liked everything about the Hitchhiker's Guide trailer except for how Marvin looked.

Me too, if you add "and sounded". He looked stupid, and he didn't sound like Marvin.

I don't see why they couldn't have got the voice of the real Marvin, he's still alive AFAIK and it doesn't matter if he looks older, because he looks like a robot anyway.

I wasn't thinking about whether it was American or British. I was just enjoying it as trailer which was funny and intelligent and very close to what I remembered of the book. And then, some evil person reminded the director that CGI exists.

As for whether an American movie would be more likely to get something wrong, I'm not enough of a movie buff to have an opinion, though I suppose that's the odds when you're making a movie from a book that's from a different culture.

Agreed, but it does seem to have a got a quite remarkable number of things right. I do like the Vogons - they look almost Gerald Scarfe.
