Christian pressure groups vs. advertisers
Jun. 13th, 2005 01:57 amThis is an account of effective pressure againt advertisers on Will & Grace, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Desperate Housewives, Life As We Know It, South Park, The Shield, He's a Lady, and Chicago's Gay Games. The NYTimes seems worried, even though there was no mention of a direct campaign.
I've got one small, cheesy question: has this been addressed in any South Park shows?
Speaking of cheesy, Kraft has been standing up to the pressure--maybe we should all be buying some classic mac and cheese and telling them why.

Date: 2005-06-14 04:33 pm (UTC)AFA takes credit for all sorts of things. They say "an advertiser cancelled because of us" when the company just decided that they'd saturated the viewership of one show, or that the show wasn't delivering the audience demographics they needed.
If you boycott enough folks for long enough, sooner or later *something* will happen that you can take credit for.
