Hard steady rain, but not enough to affect visibility. Surprisingly large raindrops. Some leaves off the trees, but the majority are still on. The wind is intermittent, but noisy.

I have no reason to go outdoors, but I don't think it would be dangerous yet.

How's the weather where you are?

Toronto is damp and windy. The forecast calls for the winds to peak overnight at 60km/hr gusting to 90km/hr. We might see waves up to 5m on the lake and quite heavy rain is expected. All flights in and out of the Island airport are cancelled as of now.

It's 18:30 EDT, Trolley Square, Cambridge, MA is damp and very windy, but the weather is otherwise lovely. ETA: the honey locust out back has let go of all its leaves, but the oak is tenaciously hanging on to its largely still-green crown.

The roof has just started leaking, and we have another 5 or so days of rain and wind. :(

Strong wind gusts (official reports of 55mph), and the power went out once for about 30 sec. and then came back on.

This is just northeast of Wash. DC.

Here around Princeton it looks and feels like the usual rainy/windy fall weather. The noise is something else, though. Power has flickered about twice this hour.

Dangerously windy here, but otherwise like when we spoke earlier.

Here in New Haven we're getting lots of wind and flickering power during some of the stronger gusts. A friend of mine reports his living room is shaking (presumably he lives closer to the top of his building than me..). I've seen worse rain.

East of DC: severely windy in gusts, and still raining. I don't want to set foot outside--I think I can stand up, but the power lines could come down any time, and that would just be an embarrassing way to die.

I still have power, but I suppose it's only a matter of time.

I'm in Sequim, WA, on the Olympic Peninsula, where it is not raining today. The temp outside (at 3:45 PM) is 68 F - the sky is mostly overlaid with heavy clouds like giant wet sheep, dark-grey underneath, bright white on top, with large patches of bright blue in between. Yesterday and the day before, the sky was solid leaden grey, though it stopped raining and was decent for walking yesterday afternoon.

The Full Hunter's Moon will be rising here at 5:49 PM, and the Sun will be setting just nine minutes later, at 5:58. PM. If you go here, you can find the exact times for your own location.

Have a good storm, everyone who's having one!

London, Ontario here; very gusty winds (Environment Canada says from 40-70km/h (25-40mph)) make the rain seem much heavier than it is. It's still very wet, and will be for the next two days apparently. Local Twitter feeds report about 1000 people without power and several intersections without traffic lights. One person in Toronto was reportedly killed by windblown debris while walking home.

-- Steve's been hunkered down at home with the flu all day, so no first-hand experience with what's happening outside and no desire to try.

In NH it's dark outside (and not inside), but I don't hear any wind, and just a little bit of rain.
