Open source disaster planning

It might make sense to have disaster plans on-line. This doesn't guarantee good plans, but it least improves the odds that major factors and huge numbers of people aren't left out of consideration.

Date: 2005-09-04 03:26 pm (UTC)Much as I hate to admit it, the "what about the terrorists" folks might be right in opposing this one. If a major strike is planned, perhaps better for them not to have open access to what we'll do about a disaster in such-and-such place.

Date: 2005-09-04 03:46 pm (UTC)I thought about that, but I'm pretty sure terrorists can't do much more damage by knowing the disaster plan.
For one thing, the most obvious thing terrorists could do is damage escape routes, but figuring out the escape routes isn't especially challenging for most places.
