Cultural Appropriation

I've been somewhat following the discussion of race, ethnicity, and sf (link collection here, and a lot of people have been saying that cultural appropriation isn't a problem as long as you do a decent job of getting things right--this is a consensus I pretty much agree with.
What I haven't seen is much of anything about who's complaining about cultural appropriation--one brief mention of it being a hot issue among some Asian Indians, and that was all. Is it a criticism that most sf writers have any reason to worry about?
