Seriously, this is the most plausible CGI I've seen, though there may be an element of wishful thinking involved. I bet the cats come out of the bubbles already housebroken.

Totally unrealistic.

The claws would pop the bubbles. :}

Strictly as an SF fan I'm still trying to figure out which would be easier:

A: Rigging a Transporter or micro-wormhole to coordinate with the expansion rate of the average soap bubble (which BTW must have immense tensile strength), OR

B: Breaking down the DNA structure of that bubble blower to see what he uses for controlled cross-species growth acceleration, whether that acceleration slows or stops at the desired kitten phase, where the frack he keeps the cat embrios, whether this was a pathological or hereditary condition and whether s/he is really a human male.

Discuss.

As a fellow SF fan, I don't think "easier" exactly comes into play. I'd rather address the question of "What handwave would lead to the most satisfying story?"

I think the cats are being called out of the section of the pleroma where potential cats are stored.

I refuse to worry about the tensile strength of the bubbles, and hope to talk so fast that no one else notices the problem.

I just watched the video more carefully, and we need an explanation of why the kitten first appears as a rolling sphere.

That's why I wanted the DNA breakdown. Are they real cats or are they merely catlike objects? E,g, if they're real cats, did they actually grow from cells or were they full-grown kittens run through a size-compression device?

I think there might be a cross with tribbles involved...
